Meanwhile Back at the Ranch; Part LV

Summer is in full swing here at the farm and we're all abuzz!

The garden is finally starting to take off, and since we don't use any chemicals, we have a lot of beneficial visitors, like the garter snakes I'm never quick enough to get a photo of...

and cheeky little hummingbirds!
Our David Austen roses are blooming-they are so beautiful and smell so fabulous!

and look! There's one of our girls working away!

Our Diamond Jubilee rose is blooming, so beautiful!

The whole prairie is blooming with wild roses...I love them so!

And our bees are very busy taking advantage of all the blooms...

see?

and there's some other kind of bug busy at this one...

We have huge patches of clover in the garden this year...Orchid likes to hunt bugs in the undergrowth!

The bees LOVE the clover; it's always alive and noisy with the girls busily working away...

they gather the nectar...

and then they're off back to the hive to deposit their liquid gold...

The barn kittens are growing fast...Marmalade kitten has big dreams-he likes to hang out in the Bobcat!

The kittens like Beetle better, but if he moves too quickly, they still give him the 'scaredy-cat' hiss, so cute!

WorryKitty is still worried, but she does have adventures...

Last weekend we went and cleaned out the goats area (mostly my nemesis, baling twine-you can see there's a whole stock tank full of it!) WorryKitty followed us out and hid behind the stock tank...Dolly notice her and wanted to be friends right away...

WorryKitty was interested in Dolly too...
but Dolly got too close for WorryKitty's comfort, and WorryKitty ran away...

In the meantime, we decided to trim Dolly's hooves-silly Dolly!

WorryKitty thought the coast was clear, and peeked out into the goat pen again...

But Dolly noticed WorryKitty right away and tried to be friends again...

But it was all just too worrisome for WorryKitty, and she had to retreat to the other side of the pen where it isn't so scary!
Hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as we are and happytrails!
